Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-15
OpusHub Studio is a local-first application. Your studio records and your music library are stored on your own devices, not on our servers. This policy explains what that means, and the limited data we process as a business when you buy or sign in.
1. Who we are
OpusHub Studio (“OpusHub”, “we”, “us”) is the software product at opushub.studio, operated by OpusHub Studio, an independent developer based in Bulgaria. Our software is sold and payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd. acting as our Merchant of Record. For any privacy question or request, contact support@opushub.studio. For the purposes of the GDPR, we are the data controller for the limited account and purchase data described in section 4, and you can reach us at that email address.
2. Data stored on your device (not by us)
The core app is local-first. Depending on how you use it, OpusHub may store on your device: student names and contact details, parent/guardian details, lesson notes, attendance, grades, repertoire, resources, invoices, payments, expenses, to-dos, audit logs, and app settings.
- Application data lives in the local OpusHub database on your device.
- Library files live in the local folder or Android document location you choose.
- Backup exports are written only when you create them or enable automatic local backups.
We do not receive, store, or have access to this studio data. You are responsible for the personal data of your own students and their families that you choose to store in the app.
3. Network use by the app
Core studio data does not require an external cloud provider. Some features contact external services only when you use them, for example opening a web link, YouTube or IMSLP lookups, or optional assistant features. If you configure an AI API key, it is stored in your operating system’s secure storage where supported, and AI requests send the prompt and context you choose to the AI provider you configured (e.g. OpenAI or OpenRouter). We do not proxy or retain those requests.
4. Data we process as a business
To sell licenses and let you sign in, we process a small amount of data:
- Account email: used for passwordless sign-in (one-time codes) and to tie your license to you. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- License & device data: a device identifier and license status, so your subscription or perpetual license works across your own devices and honors the device limit. Legal basis: performance of contract.
- Purchase data: handled by our payment provider (see section 5). We receive confirmation of your purchase and your email, not your full card details.
5. Third-party services we use
- Paddle: our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, billing, and sales tax/VAT, and acts as an independent controller of your payment data. See Paddle’s privacy policy.
- Resend: delivers transactional email such as sign-in codes. It processes your email address to send those messages.
- AI providers (optional, your key): when you enable cloud AI features with your own API key, requests go to that provider under their terms.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Retention
We keep account and license data for as long as your license is active and as needed for legal, tax, and accounting obligations. On-device studio data is retained until you delete it. To remove app data, delete the local database, your configured library folder, and any backups you created.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the account data we hold, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. Contact support@opushub.studio and we will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Children
OpusHub Studio is a professional tool for teachers. It is not directed to children, and children do not create accounts. Teachers who store data about minor students are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
